Imagine Heaven Review – Near-Death Experiences, God’s Promises, and the Exhilarating Future That Awaits You by John Burke. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of Heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will Heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

Imagine Heaven contains 318 pages of thought provoking stories about death and the afterlife. In this book, John Burke compares over 100 stories and testimonies from those who allegedly died and went to heaven for a brief time. Upon returning to their bodies, they told of the amazing things that they saw and heard while on the other side.
I want to take the opportunity here to issue a disclaimer. This book must be read with a “grain of salt” as they say. There is no way to prove the authenticity of the stories that are presented in this book. Each individual must decide for themselves if the stories hold water or not. With that being said, I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I have read it multiple times and even purchased a couple of additional copies for my mother and sister. This book was a page turner that I just could not put down.
The stories found in this book really caused me to push my imagination. There are many descriptions of the afterlife and heaven in this book that seem to correlate with what the bible says. As John Burke points out, the people who experienced heaven and came back to tell about it have nothing to gain and everything to lose by sharing their stories. Doctors, professors, bank presidents and many other professionals in this book put their reputations on the line to share what they saw on the other side. I found this book one day while mourning the loss of a pet. I saw that there was a chapter in it that briefly discussed animals in heaven. I decided to give it a try and I’m sure glad I did. It has become one of my favorite books and it has great re-readable value to it.
This book is an outstanding read and one of my favorite on the subject of heaven. It is was well written and very easy to comprehend. It has given me a renewed and exciting expectation in regards to the life to come for all those that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. I highly recommend this book for casual reading and for anyone who is suffering the loss of a loved one in Christ, and even a beloved pet.
You can not read this book without getting excited about heaven.
