Tyndale Chronological Life Application Study Bible KJV Review – The Bible is the story of God’s interaction with his creation. It is a story that occurs over time, in many places, and through many events. It’s often easy to lose sight of the way in which God’s story fits together when our primary way of looking at the Bible is a bit here and a bit there.

The Tyndale Chronological Life Application Study Bible (CLASB) is broken down into 10 chronological headers to make learning the bible much easier. Each dispensation is color coded and arranged at the top of each page of this bible so that you always know what part of the bible story you are learning from. There is a fantastic colorful bible timeline at the beginning of the (CLASB) and an introduction to all 66 books of the bible that is located in the back. At the beginning of each of the 10 chronological headers, you are provided with an overview of what to expect from that section of the bible. Timelines, themes, maps, and many other tools are given to assist you in learning the bible in a chronological manner. I really enjoyed the study notes in this bible. The life application study notes are very conversational in nature and not only explain what a verse means, but how to apply that meaning to your life. The study notes will challenge you and cause you to reflect on many of life’s questions. The (CLASB) has great colorful pictures and illustrations that are found throughout. There are personality profiles, archaeological notes, and charts all through the (CLASB). The (CLASB) is not a red letter edition, meaning the words of Christ are not written in red.

Quality

I have had the hard copy of the CLASB for several years now and have seen no deterioration. The binding has held together very well and the hard cover makes this bible very durable. This bible looks and feels much like a school text book. This hard cover copy did not come equipped with a ribbon attached.

Size/Weight

The size and weight of this bible is pretty typical when it comes to study bibles.  The weight of it is what you would expect for a hard cover study bible. It is good for both in home study and to take with you on the go because of its durable hard cover.

Final Thoughts

The CLASB is an excellent way to learn the scriptures. The life application study notes is really what does it for me. I enjoy the conversational style that the commentators deliver the study notes. They make you feel like you have your own personal pastor on hand to answer all of your questions. I also found that the color coded chronological headers assisted me greatly in learning the bible stories. I always knew where I was in the story because it was displayed at the top on of the page. I enjoyed this chronological study bible so much that I obtained both the NLT and KJV versions and read them both through. My only complaint would be that Christ’s words were not written in red lettering but that is my own personal preference. Overall this is an outstanding chronological study bible and I highly recommend it for a secondary or supplemental bible study tool.
