Content

This bible is chalk full of study notes and small yet satisfying essays. There are also several black and white maps found throughout. I don’t believe I have ever come across a bible that had more bible verse references than this bible provides. Each page has a center column that is packed full of verse references. This bible also has what I like to call “quick glance” definitions that are also found in the center column of each page. The quick glance definitions give a translation for difficult and hard to understand words found in the KJV. I find that I utilize these quick glance tools quite frequently. All of Jesus’ words are written in red in this bible and each chapter in the bible is indicated by red colored numbering. I have found that this bible does not discuss every bible verse in the study notes like other study bibles attempt to. In fact, there are many places in the old testament where the bible seems to give a summary of a whole chapter in lieu of explaining individual verses. What this bible does hit on, they hammer home; and what they don’t hit on makes up for the smaller size and less weight compared to other study bibles. Each book of the bible also starts with an introduction that explains who wrote the book, the reason for writing, the date it was written, and other really helpful information to make sure that the reader is well informed. There are also a lot of extras found throughout this bible such as Christ in the prophecies, the miracles of Jesus, the harmony of the gospels, and so much more.

Quality

The quality of this bible is superb. The black bonded leather with the silver lettering is very sleek in appearance. It comes with one black ribbon that has a cloth or polyester type of feel to it. This is actually one of my favorite bible ribbons. The binding has held together perfectly and the bible lays flat on the table when opened no matter what page you are opened to. This bible is of excellent quality. I cant even give one complaint when it comes to the construction of this bible.

Size/Weight

The overall size and weight of this study bible is actually smaller than most study bibles in my library. It is surprising how small it is and yet contains a plethora of notes, essays, and many other study helps. This is a study bible that you could easily take with you to church or on the go. It’s size and weight does not hinder you from wanting to go mobile with it.

Final Thoughts

There are not enough good things I can say about this bible. It is in my top three bibles of all time if I were to give it a number value. The quality, the size, the verse references, and the quick glance definitions leave little else to be desired. I would highly recommend this study bible to anyone. My only complaint would be what seems to be a smaller amount of study notes in the old testament compared to the new testament. But again, this also makes up for the smaller more desirable size for this bible. This would make for an excellent primary study bible.

Superb

A perfect primary study bible that is accurate and full of extra study helps.
