Content

The Action Bible is geared toward younger readers. It is a full color illustrated hardcover book. It contains 215 stories from the bible in chronological order making it very enjoyable and easy to read and understand.  It is not a bible, but more a bible story book but it does a great job of telling most of the stories from the bible.  It does not quote the bible word for word but it does tell the stories accurately.  I have seen many people complain that this book is not detailed enough but I would disagree. I really enjoyed reading it and felt it conveyed the stories without missing too much.

Illustrations

The illustrations are fantastic.  The whole book is drawn by Sergio Cariello who is a Marvel and DC Comics artist.  The drawings are fantastic and you can see the huge amount of work that went into this book on every page. It was really neat to see the stories of the bible in a graphic novel form of such high quality. The text is clear and easy to read in a comic book bubble type writing.  Reading the bible with such stellar drawings really make it come alive.  Even some of the more bible graphic stories are tastefully done and appropriate for children depending on their maturity level.

Quality

The Action Bible measures about 7×11 inches.  It has a thick hard cover that and includes several drawings.  Inside the paper is nice and thick.  The paper is glossy and the colors are vibrant.  It is a high quality book.

Final Thoughts

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this bible as an adult so I would recommend it to anyone that loves comic books.  While it is not a substitute for a bible, it is a great way to get kids interested in reading it.  It presents the stories of the bible in an interesting and engaging way.
