The Big Book of Bible Answers Review

The Good

In this 398 page book, Ron Rhodes, delivers a well founded, biblical based, question and answer format to answer some of life’s most important questions.  Ron answers many questions in this book that have never even crossed my mind. Each question is thoroughly answered and in most all cases scripture references accompany each answer that is given. I found that this book had me doing quite a bit of Bible study due to the enormous amount of scripture references given. I wanted to be sure to verify the answer’s that Ron was providing as every reader should (A book that has you constantly studying the Bible is a good attribute to have in my opinion). I confirmed that the scripture references were in fact true to the teachings that Ron conveyed. I found no erroneous errors or explanations. One of the biggest attributes to this book was the large spectrum of topics that Ron Rhodes discussed. He answers questions in regards to life on other planet, apologetics, inviting unbelievers into your home, and so much more. This book was very easy to read. The flow and format were simple and to the point.

The Bad

As with any book outside of the Bible, one must use due care to rightly divide and discern what is truth and what is not. I agreed with Ron on the majority of topics that he hit on in this book. All the major doctrinal principles appeared to be right in line with scripture. If you are a King James translation only believer, you will not like his answer to the question “Is the KJV the only true inspired word of God?”. That being said, Ron did make some very good points on the KJV topic that I was unaware of. Also if you hold a preterist view, you will not like the opinions that Ron gives that oppose such a theology. Like I said, not everyone will agree with every opinion of another, but I think Ron gives strong arguments in regards to the above mentioned topics.

Final Thoughts

I enjoyed reading this book very much. I appreciated the challenge it gave me in regards to verifying the many scripture references that it provided. This book would be a great resource for the new believer. As a long time believer myself, I found that I already had a pretty good grasp on all the answers given in the book however; There were many questions that challenged and informed me in ways that I was not expecting. I was initially afraid that this book was going to be boring just due to the fact that I have been a long time Christian but that was not the case. Even on the questions that I already knew the answer to, I was curious to see what another believers thoughts were on the same subject. In most all cases I completely agreed with Ron. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone seeking deeper understanding into life’s most important questions.
